Gettin Crafty - My First Front Door Wreath

I really love all things crafty, and I have barely posted anything regarding them on here.  Well, I'm starting a new label today and you will see more "Gettin' Crafty blogs from time to time as I create little things that make me smile.

This wreath started as a Christmas project (which of course I did not document) and was transformed into this post holidays.  When I approach my front door, I cannot help but smile (ironically I guess).  The solid foam center wrapped in navy yarn was easily the most time consuming part of the project.   Putting the whole thing together with bits and pieces of things I refused to throw away because "I would find a use for them later" made me smile even bigger.  De-Cluttering AND coming out with a wonderful finished project was a huge double win!

I think the best part of creating is when other people see it and love it and want to know how you did it.  SUCH a huge compliment when that happens.  Well, this wreath has received multiple compliments, in fact yesterday I opened the door to my father in law smiling huge and telling me he was just following directions :)

Can you tell I love my wreath?

What have you created lately?

Thoughts on Home Town Pride - Go Ravens!

I am sure if you know anyone who is a Ravens fan, you are tired of hearing how excited we are to have our team in the Superbowl.  Well, let me be the millionth person to say, "We are SO excited!"  Basically, Baltimore gets little to no respect when it comes to football, even though we make it into the playoffs every year.  Even when we won this year during the playoffs, generally they talked about why we should not have won in the post game wrap up.

Suffice it to say, we are generally the underdogs and it feels really good to have a little recognition for the sport which rallies fans all across my home town.

I always look forward to Superbowl Sunday, but this year I am anticipating it more than usual, as it holds a home town pride element.  I think all the trading and transferring of players really takes away from the hometown atmosphere sports represent.  If all the Baltimore Ravens were from Baltimore, I think it would be a more exciting display because it would really be city against city.  Just my two cents :)

Who are you rooting for during Sundays game?  Not only do I want the Ravens to win, but I want to win $500 in my office pool :)  Lots of hopes riding on the score of this game!  But no matter what happens, I get chicken wings and tequila, so it's gonna be a good day!
