I know what you are thinking, "What's a Popover?" I had the same thought when our trip started! The best way I can explain it is if a muffin and a croissant had a baby, it would be something like a popover :) It is flaky like a croissant and shaped like a muffin with a bread like consistency. They are typically served with jams or maple butter and are unbelievably delicious and perfect for a light breakfast.
We even found a restaurant completely devoted to this baked good - they had taken it to a new level and made sandwiches inside the pastry. The Jordan Pond House in Bar Harbor is famous for warm popovers and tea in the afternoon, so we partook in both and came out on top.
What an amazing treat. I bought popover mix from the Jordan Pond House and intend on ordering a popover pan. It was such a delightful surprise to discover a new baked treat!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone :) Thanks for journeying with me all week!
